Patti’s School

I’ve started teaching English at the school run by House of Hope. It’s a new experience for me but I’m finding it very rewarding. The house is a bit crowded since we haven’t been able to put a roof on the new school building. Classrooms are scattered about in any open space in the orphanage. I’m going to begin English classes for the teachers next week. It should be interesting.

The New Christian Church of Tabarre

I thought I would post some pictures of the church I attend. It is a small assembly of believers that is growing quickly. There are always new faces and lots of visitors. They are hoping to build a new building so services won’t have to be cancelled when it rains. I enjoy the fellowship and especially enjoy preaching every third Sunday of the month. Haitian-style worship is a simple overflowing of joyfulness and the singing is incredible. The church also runs a small school that provides a Christian education to about 80 children in the neighborhood. I’ll try and get some picture of the school and post them.
